Thomsons is an established UK London pawnbrokers specialising in cash loans and the sale of unredeemed diamonds, gold jewellery, quality watches including Rolex and Cartier, musical instruments including saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitars, flutes, and clarinets.
Thomsons has been trading since 1837. A partnership of the original Thomson brothers it was incorporated as G.W.& A.E.Thomson Ltd in 1955. Our old Chalk Farm Road branch was a Thomsons pawnbrokers from 1850 and is located in London's busiest Market at Camden Town. Our old Praed Street branch, near London's Paddington Station, was a Thomsons pawnbrokers from 1868. The shops themselves and family members have been involved in pawnbroking related films, television, and training videos. The business has succeeded through five generations on the basis of fair trading and genuine interest in it's customers.
In May 1999 Thomsons sold its remaining London branches to Harvey & Thompson Ltd.
